Big Boy is not with our rescue but if you are interested, we will accept applications and check references then put you in touch with the no-kill shelter where he is staying.
3/22/13 Sadly Big Boy has had to return to the shelter. He is a sweet dog with people and most medium/large dogs, but is not currently safe around cats or small dogs and he can jump a 4 1/2 ft fence to get to them, so we could not keep him in foster care. Big Boy could be a great companion dog but will need a home with a 6 ft fence and strong leadership for him to learn how to behave appropriately around smaller animals.
Notes from the shelter: This is Big Boy and what a fantastic dog he is. He sits on command, and stays too! He is super attentive and calm. Not a sound out of him, despite tons of barking all around him?.he remains calm and steadfast. He is HW negative and from what we have seen ? a true gentleman in his black & white tux! He?s a chunk! Have not weighed him yet, but he is solid?probably about 60 lbs. Big Boy is probably about 3 y/o. Big Boy LOVED playing with the stuffed animal and having Jeremy tease him with it. In fact he loved it sooooooo much they let him take the stuffed toy back to his pen :-) (After all, you can't take the boy's pillow from him!) He was, however, a little too interested in the shelter cat so no kitties or as how he may perceive 'really cool animated stuffed toys' in his new home. April 6, , 8:30 pm
